PSHE Update

Hello all!

As you may or may not be aware, I am responsible for the oversight of PSHE in the Trust and as such I thought I would highlight some resources that I have come across to support your implementation of the curriculum.

Financial resources: This framework was suggested in a webinar I attended about successful financial education. It looks like a good starting point for really encouraging children to understand money and financial responsibility.

Big Life Journal https://biglifejournal.-com/pages/freebies Although this resource is aimed at parents, each week there is a freebie printable which may support elements of your PSHE programme and the work on the Pi objectives in your schools.

First Aid is a relatively new addition to the curriculum and all children should be taught basic first aid skills- St Johns Ambulance have some fab resources as do the British Red Cross https://www.redcross.org.uk/get-involved/teaching-resources/wellbeing

The following link is to the NHS and provides career videos for children to explore roles within the NHS: Step into the NHS

Changing Faces: The following provides a link to use of your children have visible differences and for challenging stereotypes. It provides teacher guides, assembly resources and activities to use in class. www.changingfaces.org.uk

The PSHE association website is also full of ideas and resources, many of which are free to access.

I will soon be in touch to complete an audit of the resources that you already have and use in school for teaching PSHE but if you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Best Wishes
Steph
