Squirrels Scouting

We are delighted to announce that this term we launched Squirrels Scouting with our Reception children and on May 5th an investiture was held, Squirrel promises made, red necker distributed and a warm welcome to the Scouting family received.

Squirrels are a new branch of the scouting family and is aimed at Early Years; our section at Yoxford and Peasenhall Primary will be one of the first Squirrel Dreys in Suffolk.

So how will it work at our school?

Every Thursday afternoon, the Reception children will engage in a variety of activities working towards various badges. The ‘drey’ will be led by Miss Wright and Mrs Flaherty, as the Squirrel Section Leaders, and wherever possible I will be joining too in my capacity as Scout leader. The sessions will last about an hour long and they will be outdoors as much as possible.
