  • Safeguarding

Consortium Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our schools are a safe place for children, where our responsibilities for safeguarding children are taken seriously. Our Locality Committees are regularly updated about child protection, bullying and safeguarding policies and practices by the Academy Head, and or other members of the Trust's Central Team.

The Trust fully adopts the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance annually; all staff receive Statutory Training, as well as an update briefing each PD Day in September, covering all aspects of safeguarding and prevent.

    Global Awareness

The Trust actively promotes global education and encourages our schools through PSHE and after school clubs to develop their pupil's spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness through the education of countries, cultures and religious festivals.

As part of this, the Trust recognises the British Values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

    Prevent Duty Guidance

As part of the Trust's commitment to safeguarding and child protection we fully support the government’s Prevent Strategy.

The Prevent strategy is a government strategy designed to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. It is also designed to ensure that everybody respects the beliefs of others.

It is the Responsibility of every adult in our schools and communities to ensure that we maintain the highest level of awareness about the risks and potential exposure to young people who may be vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism, extremism or radicalisation.

The Trust is committed to the safeguarding of children in our schools and communities and fully support the government's Channel Programme, as part of our Safeguarding responsibilities.
