SRB Update

As many of you will be aware Suffolk County Council have confirmed that our SRB bid at Barnby North Cove Primary has been approved.  This is fantastic news for the Trust, but most importantly for pupils in our region.  Whilst, the unit, 'The Broads', will not directly offer places to pupils in Trust schools, we are proud to be able to offer the capacity to the system to ensure more children are able to access appropriate provision.

Working in partnership with The Ashley Special School in Lowestoft, we are planning an integrated provision that enables pupils in the Broads to access aspects of the curriculum alongside mainstream pupils wherever appropriate.  We know that both pupils and staff will benefit from being integrated into the wider Barnby and North Cove school community as well as the Trust.  As with the special schools joining us, we will aspire to work in partnership with staff in this new setting sharing practice and supporting each other to offer excellence across the Trust.

We are also determined that The Broads will be a physically integrated provision and have a £1,000,000 budget for the capital investment from SCC that we aim to use to provide exceptional facilities to pupils attending the Broads as well as Barnby and North Cove School.
